A day off… entry number one. What is this blog going to be about?

A volleyball blog – I’ve seen plenty of them. Most are fan blogs. There are also a few blogs created by players, but I’ve never come across anything made by a member of the coaching staff. That’s where the idea came from to give it a shot, despite the constant heavy workload. This thought has been in my head for a few weeks now, and finally, taking advantage of a day off, I decided to start. The result is what you see before you.

What is this blog going to be about?

Hopefully, it will be strictly about volleyball and volleyball-related matters. More specifically? The blog will feature my thoughts on volleyball and related situations. I will also share my predictions for specific matches, tournaments, and entire rounds. I will regularly show you detailed analyses of teams and players that you haven’t had the chance to see anywhere else before (complete with commentary explaining what’s in there, of course).

In the ‘Volleyball Primer’ section, there will be short videos showing individual plays, which I’ll use to walk you through the rules of volleyball and create a kind of volleyball handbook. Among other things, I’ll explain what terms like ‘odka’ (overpass), ‘gun’, ‘diabeł’ (devil), and many, many others mean… My blog will also feature match reports from (hopefully) as many games as possible, as I want to be your go-to source for volleyball information. And finally, I’ve also created a ‘Video’ section for funny or interesting clips—and there are plenty of those!

What’s first?

To start off, I’ll describe what a typical day looks like for me. I’ll try to add one post to each section so you can get a clearer picture of what it’s going to look like. I’ll also create guides on how to read match reports and the so-called ‘totals’. One of my first articles will be my predictions for the World Championship in Poland. How will our national team—Poland—do? How will Finland, the team I currently work for, perform? I’ll also give you a detailed report of our trip to Poland (which is coming up on August 29th). Specifically to Katowice, where we’ll be playing in the first stage of the tournament.

Do you have any ideas?

If so, I’d be grateful if you let me know! It will be a valuable source of information and support for me. It will help me create something that is highly user-friendly and as informative as possible.

Have a great day, and talk to you soon!

Kamil
